Covering the tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula, the Southern Fleurieu is one of five wine regions that make up the Fleurieu. It’s just over an hour’s drive from Adelaide to the region’s largest town of Victor Harbor.
The climate is Mediterranean and very strongly influenced by the vast expanses of water surrounding the region.
The clay loams and buckshot gravel soils are well suited to viticulture and support moderate vine growth.
This variety does best in warmer years, producing elegant, food-friendly wines with red berry and blackberry flavours.
