Pemberton has a temperate climate that’s cooler than some of the surrounding regions, thanks in part to its altitude. High annual rainfall keeps things lush.
Pemberton is on the coast of Western Australia, less than four hours from Perth. It’s surrounded by national parks and thick with forests.
The weather here is on the cooler side compared to some surrounding areas. Summer is warm and quite dry, while winter is cool and wet.
The region’s soils include vivid red loams and gravelly soils.
This is the most widely planted variety, at its best producing rich, full-flavoured wines.
The region is ideal for growing quality Merlot grapes. These wines are impressive either as single-varietals or blended with Cabernet Sauvignon.
Pinot Noir has been planted widely and is used to make single-varietal wines as well as vibrant sparkling wines.
