Wine Description
Best’s Bin No 0 Shiraz is produced from the four original Shiraz plantings in the low yielding blocks of the historic Concongella vineyard at Great Western. This includes nineteenth century and mid twentieth century plantings of Shiraz which result in very low yielding, intense vines. The fruit is hand-selected, sorted and fermented in small-batches and matured in the finest barrels in our underground cellar.
Bin 0 is made to be an age worthy style and has been the undisputed icon of Great Western Shiraz for many decades. It is internationally acclaimed as one of Australia’s great Shiraz wines.

THE REAL REVIEW – HUON HOOKE, June 2019
Sweaty, meaty, reductive aromas at first; youthful and bold, fresh and undeveloped. The wine is intense and firm, with a little (pleasant) bitterness in the tannins, bright and bold, youthful and quite solid... It has a very good depth and intensity of flavour. There’s a sweet-fruit middle and considerable elegance. It showed more fruit and complexity with airing, including some pepper and a slight balsamic-herb bunchy note. Potential plus. Footnote: a day later, exposure to air had brought more out of the wine. Wonderfully deep and complex.
