Another fantastic nose, coconut, blackcurrant and dark cherry, some raspberry too, wood shaving, serious, bit more delicate than above. Maybe more complex, but not as open.
Palate so smooth, fleshy ripe juicy red berry fruit, soft, raspberry, crushed strawberry, fleshy cherry, blackberry, then vanilla and conconut, some cedar, cracked pepper, long and fresh finish, with fine dry tannin to refresh, so long and layerd, ripe and fleshy, but not heavy, or sweet, with plums on finish. Beautiful cedar and cocout wood, then some pepper, and lift to finish. Wonderful. Very long. Very layered, serious, beautifully crafted with intense berry fruit, wonderful oak and texture. Spice and flesh.

Plush. Thick. A salubrious sheen of impeccably poised oak and sensitively extracted grape tannins meld with just enough freshness. Generosity, the calling card. The fruit and arsenal of herb- to spice-inflected flavours sing above the structural frame: black cherry, damson plum, licorice, Asian spice, hoisin and baby back ribs. Slick, long and immensely satisfying.

Winemaker's Bio
Mike Brown is the managing director of Gemtree, where he does everything from making the wine to wearing out the shoe leather (in a normal year) during his travels from Queenstown to Quebec, sharing the stories of his McLaren Vale wines.
Originally from NSW, Mike undertook a vintage in SA in the early 1990s, shortly thereafter leaving Sydney and his job at the stock exchange to study wine marketing, gaining valuable insights into wineries and winemaking. However, it was the smells, tastes and activity within the cellar that Mike really loved. After working many vintages in wineries around McLaren Vale and France, in 1998 Mike completed his first vintage as a winemaker at Gemtree.
