Wine Description
This wine shows aromas of Nashi pears and new season white peach with a subtle hint of citrus fruits and sea spray. Once allowed to open up in the glass, it has subtle undertones of fresh-cut spring flowers , Cantaloupe off the knife and is accented by citrus blossom and soft floral notes. On the palate, it has a long textured finish with juicy Honeydew melon and lemon sherbet flavours all entwined with just enough natural acidity to give a clean crisp finish.
Winemaker's Bio
The Pawn Wine Co. had its beginning in 2002 out of necessity when vignerons and winemakers Tom Keelan and his wife Rebecca Willson had a small parcel of fruit deemed ‘not good enough’ by a particular nameless, soulless wine monolith. They had now become mere Pawns in the global wine game, doomed to be played and moved around, and ultimately sacrificed.
They continue their crusade against the corporate wine world, by staying artisinal, and allowing the fruit to shine with minimalist winemaking techniques, environmental sustainable practices and old world grape varieties that have found their new home in Australia.
