Wine Description
Grenache has long been held in high esteem by Barossa winemakers. Despite being overlooked elsewhere due to a workhorse history, it has hidden depths and excellent potential. Like a Rough Diamond, ordinary at first glance, its real beauty as a jewel is only revealed through cutting and polishing.
Sweet, juicy fruit flows over the palate which is light to medium bodied. The red berries are balanced nicely with brambly and peppered spice and soft yet drying tannins which continue through the long and fruitful finish.
Winemaker's Bio
Langmeil’s family winemaker, Paul Lindner, is a sixth generation of the Barossa’s Lindner family, and a third generation Australian-Italian, which may explain his love for making wine.
Paul’s passion for winemaking has always been to combine old world and new world with minimal handling and intervention, to ensure the fruit’s full potential is captured. By keeping true to each variety, and the subtleties derived from the different soils of individual vineyard sites throughout the region, Paul feels he can capture the true taste of Barossa.
