Wine Description
Winemaking: Estate grown in our Mt Barker vineyard. Hand picked from low yielding 15 year old vines. 25% whole bunch fermented with a long cold soak prior to primary fermentation. Hand plunged and 02 speared, basket pressed and 18 months in 40% new oak, 6 month bottle aged prior to release.
Story: Located on the South Eastern tip of the Adelaide Hills at an altitude of 410m this vineyard experiences a warmer, dryer summer than average for the Adelaide Hills. This enables us to produce a medium bodied cool climate Shiraz with fragrant spice, whilst retaining the freshness the Adelaide Hills supplies.
Taste: Rich, deep red berries, plums, rhubarb and blueberries. Medium in body but fullness on the pallet from delicious chocolate oak and Asian spice. High acid and low tannin with great length.
