Wine Description
“Pietra Rossa” means red stone, a reference to the iron-rich soils that provide these sangiovese grapes. It has a nose of raspberry, cherries, nougat and maybe a hint of aniseed. Medium-bodied and mellow, it’s supported by finely balanced acidity and tannins.
Winemaker's Bio
After vintages in Tuscany, the Mornington Peninsula and Margaret River, Joel Pizzini returned to make wine for the family business in 2002. Always working hard to introduce best practice viticulture and winemaking principles Joel is on the quest to make the best Sangiovese and Nebbiolos that Australia can produce. Each vintage Joel works with over 15 Italian grape varieties to make the family’s wines from Prosecco to Nebbiolo, Joel produces wines made to be enjoyed with food.
