Wine Description
Satsuma plums and blackcurrant fruits explode onto the front palate. Brooding spices and black olives and further intrigue. Hints of dark chocolate. Fine but firm tannins build through the palate leading to a crescendo of flavours that resonate with the drinker long after the wine has left ones lips. The wine is seductively savoury with enough bright fruit to remain vibrant and fresh.
Winemaker's Bio
No stranger to the world of winemaking, Alister Timms grew
up on his family’s vineyards on the Bellarine Peninsula, planting
vines at the age of 10.
After studying Oenology at the University of Adelaide, Alister
joined Shadowfax as assistant vineyard manager. He then spent
time managing his family’s winery, Kilgour Estate and travelled
to Italy to spend two vintages in Tenuta di Valgiano in Tuscany.
Alister later returned to Shadowfax to manage the winery’s
vineyards and establish the new Little Hampton estate in the
Macedon Ranges before becoming Chief Winemaker in 2017.
