Wine Description
Cherry fruits and violet tones fill the palate. There are complexities galore, some cherry pith, mocha warmth, cardamom, all sitting on a precise palate of lacey fine tannins with lovely acid core. The wines tight rope frame and finesse is a highlight. The palate is long and persistent with evolving complexities as time goes by. A fine example of cool climate, single vineyard, high altitude Macedon ranges Pinot Noir.
Winemaker's Bio
No stranger to the world of winemaking, Alister Timms grew
up on his family’s vineyards on the Bellarine Peninsula, planting
vines at the age of 10.
After studying Oenology at the University of Adelaide, Alister
joined Shadowfax as assistant vineyard manager. He then spent
time managing his family’s winery, Kilgour Estate and travelled
to Italy to spend two vintages in Tenuta di Valgiano in Tuscany.
Alister later returned to Shadowfax to manage the winery’s
vineyards and establish the new Little Hampton estate in the
Macedon Ranges before becoming Chief Winemaker in 2017.
