Wine Description
This Albariño epitomises the Alpine Valleys’ ideal wine growing qualities, delivering a wine with exceptional expression and substance. Albariño, meaning little white wine, shows a lustrous light lemon colour. The nose is intensely fragrant with floral aromas, tangelo, guava and passionfruit. The palate displays intense exotic fruits, excellent varietal expression with cumquat, guava and sweet lemon entwined into the fresh complex minerality and fine textural structure. The wine's vibrancy is counterpointed by a rich silky finish garnered from extended lees work.
Winemaker's Bio
Toni Pla Bou has worked in the wine industry for twenty five years, working for Houghton Wines, Coldstream Hills, Evans & Tate, Berton Vineyards and as a flying winemaker in Corsica, Roussillon, Gaillac and Corbière with Jean Marc Lafage. Studies in Philosophy and French have informed his understanding of wine, in relation to style, aesthetic and cultural value. Having a Catalonian heritage, Toni has always been passionate about wines from either side of the Pyrenean border: Grenache, Tempranillo, Grenache Blanc, Macabeo and more. Through his winemaking, Toni is inspired by the topographical and climatic affinities between the Alpine Valleys and the European Pyrenees.
