All Saints Estate
Rutherglen , Victoria
Winery Overview
For more than a hundred years All Saints Estate has been producing award winning wines at the heritage-listed property in the treasured little corner of North East Victoria. The combination of long summers and cool nights allows many grape varieties to develop a wonderful intensity of flavours that are a hallmark of the wines.
The vineyard plantings are some of the oldest in Victoria, with some blocks classified as ancient. This kick start from nature, and a commitment to sustainable viticulture, provides the extraordinary fruit used to create the handcrafted table wines they’re passionate about including unique regional heroes, Marsanne and Durif. And the world renowned fortified Muscats and Muscadelles.
Siblings Eliza, Angela and Nicholas Brown form the fourth-generation wine family who own All Saints Estate and its nearby sister winery, St Leonards Vineyard. They are honoured to continue the wine-making tradition established by their father, the late Peter Brown, a true pioneer of the Australian wine industry. The siblings all act as directors with eldest sibling Eliza in charge of special projects, sister, Angela the Sales and Marketing Director and brother, Nicholas the Winemaker and Operations Manager. Each brings a wealth of experience gained both in and outside the wine industry.
The French basket press shipped from England in the 1880s has been in use at the winery gently pressing red wines since. The wax lined concrete fermenters and barrel hall built in 1864 all contribute to the unique character and style of the wines. Modern touches include an airbag press for whites and stainless steel fermentation vessels. The hands on approach in the vineyards are mirrored in the winery where the fruit is sorted on arrival and small batches are fermented separately. We like to think our winemaking takes the best of the old and new worlds but at all times aims for elegance, complexity and balance.
With wine running through their veins for four generations, Eliza, Angela and Nicholas Brown and their team are customer obsessed, team orientated, creative, agile and driven. With a healthy respect for traditional winemaking and the support of a talented team the sibling owners believe they have the keys to delivering their vision to be globally renowned for crafting enviable experiences with an unmistakable personal touch.
