Winery Overview
We are often asked, where did the name come from? We are farmers from Padthaway and had the foresight to take the leap into viticulture & winemaking and have not looked back.
The Longbottom family have farmed in Padthaway, South Australia since 1938. Onions, sheep, and cattle have long been their mainstay. In 1993 the first vines were planted. Now over 400* ha is dedicated to wine grape production with 6 varieties produced. Outstanding fruit quality across all our grape varieties, combined with our uncontrived winemaking style, Farmer’s Leap delivers a quality bottle of wine you can trust. While remaining true to our values, history, and region, we ensure our wines are worth selecting and drinking every time. Farmer's Leap does not take shortcuts, nor compromises quality. Great risks often reap significant rewards. Farmer's Leap wines are an expression of our toil in the vineyard and commitment to the highest winemaking standards.
