We are a Carbon Neutral winery that works with passionate growers in the Hunter Valley, Hilltops, and Canberra Districts. Our production focuses on Semillon, Riesling, and Shiraz, and our innovation driven approach to winemaking is built on a foundation of new and old world practices.
Gundog Estate is now widely regarded as one of New South Wales most exciting and high quality boutique producers. Our winery is consistently awarded a five red star rating in the Halliday Wine Companion, and winemaker Matt Burton was nominated as a finalist in the Gourmet Traveller WINE Magazine 2021 Australian Winemaker of The Year Award.
Winemaker Bio
Matt Burton is a winemaker with more than twenty five years’ experience. As owner of Gundog Estate, he has led the winery to carbon-neutral certification across scopes 1–3 and championed environmental and social initiatives, including a powerful partnership supporting disadvantaged youth. A finalist for Gourmet Traveller’s Australian Winemaker of the Year (2021), Matt is known for his innovative, quality-driven wines and purpose-led leadership.
