Penley Estate
Coonawarra , South Australia
Winery Overview
Penley Estate is one of Coonawarra’s leading wineries, and one of the countries premium growers and makers of Cabernet, Shiraz and red blends.
“We’ve taken the old Roller and painted it red.
To make it go faster, to be fun and breezy.
So that everyone can enjoy the ride.
And appreciate the timelessness of a new beginning.”
“We are the pedigree that’s been let off the leash.
To run, discover and play.
To be brought to life.
We are the wines with carefree souls; the wines for now and the wines for later.
We are the vibrancy of the terra rossa, celebrating the fruit and honouring the vine”.
Penley Estate’s winemaker Kate Goodman is regarded as one of Australia’s best contemporary winemakers. Kate creates wines with freshness and vibrancy – seeking structure and expression of fruit – while still retaining varietal integrity.
All of Penley wines are truly estate grown and registered by The Vegan Society.

Winemaker Bio
Passion. Spontaneity. Soul. Just a few words that come to mind to introduce winemaker, Kate Goodman.
Kate is one of Australia’s best contemporary winemakers. Wineries such as Wirra Wirra ( McLaren Vale), Tim Kanppstein (Clare Valley), Seppelt (Great Western), Punt Road (Yarra Valley) have all benefited from Kate’s brilliance. There is no denial of talent and absolute harmony when it comes to Kate and the winery which we have witnessed each year since she started in 2016.
Her investment in us is what has fed their evolution into creating some spectacular contemporary varietals.
And with the addition of winemaker, Lauren Hansen, it’s as though they have taken an almighty breath of fresh Coonawarra air and are totally inspired.
