Winery Overview
For more than a hundred years St Leonards Vineyard has been producing award winning wines at the picturesque winery in this treasured little corner of North East Victoria. The combination of long summers and cool nights allows many grape
varieties to develop the wonderful intense fruit flavours that are a hallmark of the wines. The vineyard plantings include some of the most interesting varieties in Victoria. This kick start from nature, and commitment to sustainable viticulture,
provides the extraordinary fruit used to create handcrafted table wines.
St Leonards is a unique spot. In a loop of the Murray River, fast flowing and still mountain-cold, it always seems cooler than other vineyards nearby. It is more
peaceful too. Pelicans spiral down to the lagoon and glide silently through the reflections of the towering gums along the waterline. The vineyards move slowly as well, with the lower temperatures helping draw out the growing season to maximise the development of intense fruit flavours. The vineyards are home to a mix of classic and curious varieties. From the usual suspects of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Shiraz, Durif and Muscat to the lesser known Cabernet Franc.
Siblings Eliza, Angela and Nicholas Brown form the fourth-generation wine family who own St Leonards Vineyard and its nearby sister winery, All Saints Estate. They are honoured to continue the wine-making tradition established by their father,
the late Peter Brown, a true pioneer of the Australian wine business.
Eldest sibling Eliza is Director of special projects with sister, Angela looking after Sales and Marketing and brother, Nicholas as Winemaker. Each brings a wealth of experience gained both in and outside the wine industry. All share the vision of producing
exquisite wines to be enjoyed by families and friends. They believe that innovation, youthful passion, a healthy respect for traditional winemaking and a talented team are the key to delivering that vision.

Nicholas Brown has lived and breathed wine his whole life, spending his childhood running around the cellars at his family winery. After school, he initially followed an interest in geological engineering before travelling and working in Europe for a few years. In 2003, Nick began a degree in oenology at the University of Adelaide. He worked in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia and spent his holidays travelling and working in various French vineyards.
After completing his degree, he worked at Moss Wood in the Margaret River, Western Australia before moving back to All Saints Estate and St Leonards Vineyard to run the vineyard and continue the family winemaking tradition.
