Long before a single bottle was even considered, the journey along the ‘vineyard road’ began with the company's first vineyard plantings in 1995 in Langhorne Creek, South Australia.
The team has now spent almost 30 years growing grapes in Australia’s most renowned cool climate wine growing regions. In 2013 after becoming one of the most successful vineyard management and development companies in Australia consistently supplying grapes for premium and iconic Australian wine brands off their 1700 hectares of cool climate vineyards, the team believed it was time to create a wine brand of their own that represented their decades of knowledge, expertise and unwavering passion for their craft.
So, as they say, “great wine begins in the vineyard” and no one understands this better than Vineyard Road. It’s been a long journey, combining perseverance - working with Mother Nature, foresight and opportunity that has today created the wines of Vineyard Road.
The delightful Vineyard Road Cellar Door is situated on the Belvidere Estate vineyard in Langhorne Creek, located just an hour out of the city of Adelaide.
Their range of wines include Premium, Reserve, Single Vineyard, Estate and Icons. They're bright, bold and approachable, made to represent regional characteristics from their Barossa Valley, Clare Valley and Langhorne Creek vineyards. The whites, picked in the cool of night and softly pressed, the reds and rose varieties all express regional and varietal distinction. The Estate and Icon Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon wines are made from carefully selected vineyard parcels and barrel matured in American and French oak to build structure and to compliment the bold flavours and aromatics of the wines.
With unique access to quantities of quality fruit Vineyard Road are spoiled for choice when it comes to selecting the best parcels for that perfect drop. They also have a unique capability to provide a broad range of wines to suit a commercial customer’s specific needs. Almost anything is possible – just ask!

Winemaker Bio
Peter was introduced to the wine industry at a young age and quickly developed a passion. While studying for a degree in Oenology at the University of Adelaide, Peter completed a vintage with Peter Lehmann Wines in the Barossa Valley. Intent on broadening his experience, Peter spent the first half of 2001 working as a contract winemaker with Simeon Wines at Loxton and then travelled to the USA to work the 2001 vintage with Geyser Peak Wines in Sonoma Valley, California. Peter then joined Project Wine's Langhorne Creek Winery as Assistant Winemaker in 2001 and has continued to grow and challenge himself as the business expanded. He is now Vineyard Road Wine's Senior Winemaker.
