Wine Description
The Schoolhouse Red is a red blend which varies year to year. It is comprised of 75% Cabernet, 25% Shiraz and is a richer, riper expression within the Munari range. Opening with aromas of ripe blackcurrant, black olive, earthy notes and a hint of Chinese 5 spice. The palate is full and voluptuous, layered with dark fruit intensity and supple depth. A rounded structure frames the wine, with generous flavour and seamless integration leading into a persistent finish.
Winemaker's Bio
Since completing his Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Viticulture), buying the 57 acre property and retiring from the teaching industry, Adrian Munari has built a reputation for fruit driven, elegant and structured wines.
With a passion for exploring wine style and experimenting with new varieties, over his thirty years, Adrian has had plenty of experience with traditional varieties and as well as alternative varieties such as Sangiovese, Verdelho, Vermentino, Malbec & Petit Verdot.
A recent career highlight was winning the wine of the show at the 2021 Heathcote Wine Show with a white wine, the first time it had happened in the history of the show and in only the second year of producing wine with Garganega.
“We want to offer easy drinking wines of great value to those who have no tasting experience and to those who are seasoned veterans”, Adrian Munari.
