Wine Description
The Pinnacle Series are wines which best display the outstanding terroir of our vineyard sources. Fruit for this benchmark Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from both of our Griffin Road and Wallace Lane Vineyards. A combination of 1/3 barrel fermentation in neutral French oak, with the balance fermented in stainless steel. Extended lees contact and stirring has yielded a wine that is both intense yet refined. Scents of fresh mango and green papaya are abundant and the palate has a well balanced soft pillowy texture.
Winemaker's Bio
Born and raised surrounded by wine in South Australia, Luke Steele earned the Oenology Silver Medal at the prestigious University of Adelaide and he has since amassed an enviable amount of winemaking experience, awards and accolades. He honed his craft in both warm and cool climates at renowned estates including Alkoomi Wines, Craggy Range Vineyards, Maison Chapoutier, Joseph Phelps Vineyards, Jim Barry Wines, Reh Kendermann, Skillogalee, Dr Konstantin Frank and Lerida Estate. Luke has been at the helm of the Ross Hill Winery since 2019 and has been working diligently to refine and refocus the delicious portfolio that Ross Hill is famous for.
