Since it was founded in 1843, Lindeman’s has become a household wine brand name across the globe and has helped shaped the Australian wine story. In 2021, Ben Miller joined the team as senior winemaker where he aligned with the philosophy to connect with people through wine. But the story doesn’t end there. At Lindeman’s, Ben’s work is constantly evolving, with experimentation at the heart of the winery’s popular, award-winning wines.

Strides across Australia

Wine is in Ben’s blood. He was born in New South Wales’ celebrated Hunter Valley wine region, surrounded by vines and wine, and spent university holidays picking grapes for local wineries. He’s worked in some of the world’s top wine regions, including Languedoc in the south of France, Coonawarra and McLaren Vale in South Australia, Margaret River in Western Australia and now the Murray Darling wine region in Victoria.

Lindeman’s is an acclaimed producer known for crafting easy drinking styles to premium wines in over 100 countries around the world. Ben and the winemaking and viticulture team are constantly making tweaks and improvements in the vineyard and winery to evolve their award-winning wines.

“It’s vital, as winemakers, to keep experimenting because that’s how innovations are made,” says Ben. “It’s allowed Australia to become a powerful force in the world of wine.”

With the freedom to experiment and over 20 years in winemaking, Ben doesn’t steer shy from challenging the status quo and continues to stive for the best.
