Are you ready to be surprised and captivated by the quality and diversity of Australian wine on a trip hosted by Wine Australia? If you are a UK or Ireland resident and have attended the Trade Tasting either in London (27 January 2026), Edinburgh (29 January 2026) or Dublin (3 February 2026), we’d love to hear from you.

Wine Australia is hosting trade tastings in the UK and Ireland in January and February 2026 (“Trade Tastings”) where engaging with the on-trade and independent off-trade is a key focus. The Trade Tastings are free to register and enter. Restaurants, bars and independent merchants play a key role in encouraging consumers to try new wines and helping them to explore the incredible quality and diversity of Australian wine.

As part of our UK and Ireland Trade Tastings, Wine Australia is running a competition to take a total of six winners on a hosted trip to Australia for an approximate duration of two (2) weeks in October / November 2026 (“Competition”).

There’s never been a more exciting time for Australian wine, and we can’t wait to share the stories of boundary pushing winemakers, evolving styles and emerging varieties that are shaping the Australian wine landscape. Get a taste at the Trade Tastings and you might even get to experience Australia’s diverse and thrilling wine scene first hand if you’re one of our six (6) winners.

There are three (3) criteria* you must fulfil to enter the Competition:

1. Attend the Trade Tasting in London, Edinburgh or Dublin;

2. Answer the question “What is the opportunity for Australian wine in your business?” and

3. Answer the question “How you would utilise a visit to Australia to raise the profile of Australian wine?

In addition to the Trade Tasting (in London, Edinburgh and Dublin), there is also a masterclass in Edinburgh and Dublin and a consumer tasting evening in Dublin. See below for further details:

• Edinburgh – Thursday 29 January 2026
• Dublin – Tuesday 3 February 2026

Come along to taste wines, meet Aussie winemakers, catch up with importers, and enter the Competition and six (6) of you might get to come with us to Australia.

Entry Criteria

Sommeliers, on-trade buyers and independent off-trade buyers in the UK and Ireland are invited to attend the Trade Tastings and submit an entry into the Competition to be considered for a trip to Australia for an approximate duration of two (2) weeks in October / November 2026. To be eligible, each entrant must:

• attend the Trade Tastings in either London (27 January 2026), Edinburgh (29 January 2026) or Dublin (3 February 2026);
• be prepared, able and available to travel without restrictions or limitations to Australia for an approximate duration of two (2) weeks in October / November 2026; and
• submit a written response to the following two questions:
  1. What is the opportunity for Australian wine in your business?
  2. How would you utilise a visit to Australia to raise the profile of Australian wine?

Entry to the Competition opens on 5 January 2026 at 09:00 (GMT +00:00) and closes on 20 February 2026 at 17:00 (GMT+00:00).

Results

Successful prize winners will be announced by 20 March 2026. Wine Australia will select six (6) entries that are considered to be the most engaging submissions, and which offer potential opportunities for Australian wine in the on-trade and independent off-trade. Entrants’ written communication and professional experience will also be considered.

If the winner cannot travel on the selected dates, the prize will be forfeited by the winner and will be offered to the replacement winner. The trip cannot be transferred, redeemed for cash, exchanged or sold.
