It’s home to high altitudes and down-to-earth winemakers ready to pour you a glass. The Vinesmith Wine Group’s Glenlofty Estate and Decameron Station is located on the west side of the Pyrenees, and Blue Pyrenees on the east. Both have elevations of 600m and granitic gravels, but the contrast between east and west is striking. Discover what a difference a hill makes, and explore the contrast between the east and west sides of Victoria’s Pyrenees with winery owner Roger Richmond-Smith and sommelier Yuhan Jiang.

Shiraz: Australia’s iconic red wine
Discover why bold and beautiful Australian Shiraz is an expression of place and learn how terroir, climate and community all play a role in crafting this legendary wine. Shiraz made its way to Australia more than two hundred years ago: John MacArthur is widely credited with importing the first cuttings in 1817 from Europe. Today, Shiraz accounts for nearly a quarter of Australia’s total wine production and it’s the country’s biggest exported grape variety. From affordable, quaffable BBQ reds to magnificent, age-worthy classics that are truly world-class, there’s a style of Australian Shiraz for everyone. Explore its rich history and ancient vines, and discover lesser-known regions and new expressions in this masterclass with wines from Barossa, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley and the Pyrenees.
