Denton

Denton View Hill is a family-owned vineyard and winery in the Yarra Valley, set across a dramatic granite outcrop overlooking the valley floor. First planted in 1997, the 60-hectare property has 28 hectares under vine, with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Ribolla Gialla and, at its heart, Nebbiolo. Today, the Bishop family works alongside winemaker Kirilly Gordon and viticulturist Julian Parrott, farming with restraint and making wines that reflect this distinctive site. Across three ranges - Denton Estate, View Hill and Deco - the wines move from serious and site-driven to playful and experimental, united by an instinct that favours curiosity over convention.

Kirilly Gordon began her winemaking career at Bindi in the late 1990s, before working across the Macedon Ranges and further afield in Friuli and the Rhône. Over the following two decades, she built her experience across some of Victoria’s most respected wineries while also establishing her own label, Bowerbird. Kirilly joined Denton in 2023, bringing a thoughtful, instinctive approach to winemaking and a deep respect for site. Working closely with viticulturist Julian Parrott, her focus is on allowing the character of View Hill - its varieties, seasons and distinctive granitic soils - to lead the wines.
