Barristers Block
Adelaide Hills , South Australia
Winery Overview
Named not for any prior profession but in playful irony, Barrister’s Block came about following Jan Allen’s epic legal battle to secure ownership of her Wrattonbully vines for the future of her family.
Put simply, it’s a tongue-in-cheek nod to the astronomical costs of the six-year legal battle - and the brutal realities of Australian farming - a meaningful daily reminder of the resilience that pulses through the veins of the Allen family.
Winning the case in 2002 and securing our Wrattonbully vines once and for all, the name Barrister’s Block serves a warm testament to the trials and tribulations that preceded* our hard-won, hard-grown family business.
Introducing Barrister’s Block to the Australian market in 2004, the celebrated family brand you know today is the product of Jan and her sons’ hard work and sheer determination brought to life.
