Coulter Wines

Coulter Wines is a family run wine brand that produce minimal intervention, small batch wines that focus on cleanliness and purity. We source hand picked fruit from the Adelaide Hills and other South Australian regions to make premium small batch “minimal intervention” style wines. The Chardonnay comes from the famed “Rathmine” Vineyard in the Echunga sub region of the Adelaide Hills. The Pinot Noir come from three cool sites, in the sub regions of Balhannah, Carey Gully and Hahndorf. Classic bone-dry Eden Valley Riesling and an exciting mix of alternate varieties fill out the range.

Winemaker, Chris Coulter cut his winemaking teeth with one of Australia’s larger corporate companies. However, there was always a fundamental desire to produce his own wines. In 2015, he purchased a Tonne of Sangiovese fruit and Coulter Wines was born. His winemaking ethos is minimal intervention, maximum attention. Chris considers himself extremely lucky to live the lifestyle he leads combining working with the people he loves - his family, on his passion - wine.
