Dewey Station Wines
Barossa Valley , South Australia
Winery Overview
The story of Dewey Station wines is all about family, having fun and, most of all, enjoying truly Artisanal wines!
This boutique winery is owner operated by a husband and wife team: Stefan and Ellie Dewey. Their goal is simple: express the very best that the Barossa has to
offer, whilst focusing on those beautiful fruit flavours that sometimes get lost in translation.
The wines are all about place and time. Dewey Station Wines pays homage to the most important part of life; family! The name honours past generations of the Dewey & Innocent families, who worked on the diverse Railway networks across England over many years. Stefan’s Pop and Great Grandfather were both Station Masters and train obsessed!
Ellie’s uncle created the unique, colourful labels that brings the story to life. With the labels, they wanted to 1) create something that reflects Stefan & Ellie’s personalities and the fruit focused vibrant nature of the wines inside and 2) bring some fun & colour to the industry they love so much.
Stefan has a fascination with the land in which the grapes are grown. This fascination started through numerous (unprompted) geology lessons by his mentor friend, Stuart Bourne. Each sub region and individual vineyard has its own climate, aspect and soil profile (unique DNA) that contributes to the growth and style of fruit that it produces - Terroir!
The Barossa is made up of a range of different soil profiles, from sandy loams over black clay that are typical of the southern grounds, to the ironstone rich, red yellow and brown loams over red clay of the northern grounds. It is these characters that Stefan wants to bring to his wines.
Finally, the Dewey Station Wines brand always has one thing in mind - ‘Good humour, good times & serious wines!’

Winemaker Bio
Stefan Dewey’s first ‘taste’ of the wine industry was in 2007, working a vintage for Kellermeister Wines. He went on to work in retail, distribution and marketing before committing to his love of production.
Stefan is extremely passionate about the Barossa Valley; its geology, range of soil profiles and the resultant expressions from each individual site, and feels both spoilt and honoured to produce wines from this great region. Hence Dewey Station’s fruit focused, minimal intervention (where appropriate) winemaking philosophy, allowing the vineyard, its soil and meso-climate to express itself. Crafting wines with a sense of place.
