Growers Gate
South Australia , South Australia
Winery Overview
We are a young winery, but a winery with grower history dating back many generations.
We are proudly South Australian and were established in 2010 by a group of like-minded grape growers. 10 years later, these same growers and their families provide outstanding fruit for Growers Gate.
Just like the growers, the wines are honest, down to earth and fair dinkum.
When crafting our wines, we recognize the vital role that our growers play, and Growers Gate is a celebration of that.
First and foremost, it all starts in the vineyard and the best grapes from our best growers are selected, vinified and bottled under our Growers Gate brand.
Growers Gate is all about rural excellence and the connection to the soil and the environment.
Quality wine starts in the vineyard and as we say, “You can make a good wine from good grapes and you can make a bad wine from good grapes, but you cannot make a good wine from bad grapes”. Put simply, you need good grapes to make good wine; and that is what we do.
Growers Gate wines are true and authentic, and the wines are an honest reflection of the growers’ work.

Winemaker Bio
Peter was first exposed to the wine industry at a young age when making regular trips to family business in the Barossa Valley. After listening to the stories in his uncle’s “old drinking shed” Peter developed a passion to learn more about the Australian wine industry and decided to study for a degree in Oenology.
While studying Oenology at the University of Adelaide, Peter completed a vintage with Peter Lehmann Wines in the Barossa Valley. Intent on broadening his experience, Peter spent the first half of 2001 working as a contract winemaker with the then named Simeon Wines, at Loxton and then travelled to the USA to work the 2001 vintage with Geyser Peak Wines in Sonoma Valley, California.
In 2001 Peter was offered a position with Langhorne Creek Winery for the 2002 vintage as Assistant Winemaker where he joined the team in a brand new and developing winery. From this point on Peter continued to grow and challenge himself as the business has expanded and he is now Senior Winemaker. During this time, he has also travelled extensively throughout the major wine regions of France and Italy, and in 2007 undertook the AWRI Advanced Wine Sensory Course.
