The sub-region of Marananga is home to some of the Barossa Valley's most prestigious vineyards and wineries including Torbreck, Two Hands, Greenock Creek, Tscharke, Hentley Farm, Seppeltsfield and Penfolds. It is also home to Schubert Estate.
Producing small batch wines Schubert Estate explore and profile the subtle nuances in character, flavour and texture that can be achieved through site selection, winemaking techniques, oak maturation and judicious blending.
Schubert Estate’s low-yielding vineyard produces wines of intense flavour and structure, with freshness and vitality. Specialising in single site Shiraz the wines are full bodied, deeply concentrated and delicately balanced.
With a passion for sustainability, winemaker Matt Reynolds continues to drive a deeper understanding of the site keeping this at the core of his holistic approach to winemaking. Schubert Estate is a certified member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.
The Schubert family established the property in 1915, planting vines as part of their mixed farm. Today's vineyard, located on the original property, was planted in the late 1990s, it comprises of 5 blocks across 16 hectares differentiated by soil profile, elevation and topography.
The labels of Schubert Estate feature references to the goose; a strong willed, loyal and intelligent bird renowned for their strong character and for being protectors of their territory.

With 20 years’ Barossa winemaking experience, Matt brings exceptional skill and a deep understanding of the diverse Barossa landscape to the task of crafting Schubert Estate wines from estate vineyards at Marananga. His approach reflects a desire to promote a symbiotic connection between vineyard, winemaker and winery. Respecting the innate characteristics of the region and the site, with winemaking inputs serving only showcase their distinctive strengths through each wine.
