When it comes to choosing a wine, most of us aren't thinking about regions, winemaking techniques or industry trends. We're looking for something we'll enjoy drinking and sharing around the table.
That's one reason Australian wine continues to connect with wine lovers. Whether you're serving seafood, catching up with friends over a long lunch or trying something new, there's a style to suit the occasion.
A good place to start is with the wines you already enjoy.
Love crisp, refreshing whites? Australian Sauvignon Blanc from regions like Adelaide Hills and Margaret River pairs beautifully with oysters, sashimi and other fresh flavours. Prefer rosé? Australia produces dry, savoury styles that work just as well before dinner as they do with the meal itself.
Sparkling wine is another category worth exploring. Australian producers are crafting elegant traditional-method Sparklings that feel equally at home at a celebration or alongside fish and chips on a Friday night.
And if you're feeling adventurous, Australian wine offers plenty of opportunities to discover something new. Varieties like Fiano or Grenache bring fresh flavours and character while remaining approachable and food-friendly.
