Glaetzer Anaperenna is a seamless fusion of the two varieties Shiraz and
Cabernet Sauvignon. Voluptuous, opulent and yet refined, with a very long and
satisfying finish.

Magnificent colour with an impenetrable pitch black core and a very deep dark purple black hue. A hedonistic mix of blackberry, cassis and liquorice wafts through the nostrils followed by dark plum, hints of blueberry, vanillin cedar, subtle dried herbs and spice. Full in body the palate is flush with blackberry, cassis, liquorice and dark plum fruits tinged by traces of a blueberry like freshness. Vanillin cedar, subtle scorched earth, faint tobacco and spicy pepper elements sit underneath. Structured tannins provide an excellent framework yet are quite velvet like in their feel. Bright youthful finish with a long seductive aftertaste.

For the 2018 Anaperenna Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon, Glaetzer blended in 18% Cabernet Sauvignon to give the wine increased fragrance and length. The nose is smoky, slightly herbal and marked by sweet cedar-and vanilla-tinged oak, but it also offers great cassis and blackberry fruit. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, the flavors are kept nicely in check by fine-grained tannins. This wine has it all: terrific intensity, complexity, length and texture.

82% shiraz (30-100yo vines), 18% cabernet sauvignon (30-130yo vines) yielding 2.5t/ha, open-fermented, hand-plunged, matured for 16 months in new hogsheads (92% French, 8% American). Full-bodied, plum blackberry, supple tannin, good oak. Easy to argue this is too cheap.

Very deep, dark glass staining purple colour. The bouquet is chocolaty and richly oaked, concentrated and dense and plummy, the same flavours on the palate, which is rich and opulently lavish. Sweet fruit to burn. A gorgeous Shiraz in the bigger style.

The 2018 vintage has delivered such strong quality in these full-bodied reds from the Barossa. This has all the ripeness with vitality, depth and freshness. Aromas of blackberries and blackcurrants, as well as leaves and violets, lead to a very deep, dense and juicy palate that carries such luscious, black and blue-fruit flavors.

Winemaker's Bio
The irrepressible Ben Glaetzer is the driving force behind Glaetzer Wines. Ben graduated in winemaking from Adelaide University in South Australia after working at Barossa Valley Estate during school and university holidays.
After travelling extensively throughout many of the worlds wine regions, Ben returned to the Barossa and joined the family company. Ben's ability to blend traditional winemaking techniques with a modern flair is reflected in the style of wines under the Glaetzer label. He makes unique, elegant wines with minimal intervention, which are regarded as classics and unmistakably Barossan.
