Wine Description
Planted by a former Mayor of Adelaide in 1969, The Mayor’s Vineyard is perched on the eastern ridge of the Clare Valley at a cool 500m altitude.
This was one of the first contoured vineyards planted in the Clare Valley, a prominent feature of the picturesque region today.
The vineyard’s red loam soils are dotted with slate and have long produced savoury Shiraz wines of impeccable elegance. Some of the most distinctive wines the Clare Valley has to offer.
Knappstein’s single vineyard wines explore the full potential and individual nuances of our single vineyard sites, producing wines of finesse and raw beauty.
