Wine Description
The 2021 Shiraz has a deep crimson colour with ruby tints. The nose has dominant vibrant berry notes of blackberry, mulberry and raspberry, with plum richness, mint and a floral hint. The palate has richness of berries and plums with a hint of chocolate. Rich tannins are well balanced with fresh acidity and chocolate, with a medium long finish.
Winemaker's Bio
Eric started his career with Brown Brothers of Milawa, All Saints of Rutherglen and Auldstone of Glenrowen, before working at BRL Hardy as Senior Fortified Winemaker. He remained at there winning them numerous awards for their fortified wines.
He took his extensive knowledge and skills to 919 Wines, winning numerous trophies and awards for the winery. He was awarded Riverland Winemaker of the Year in 2008, and Winestate Australian Winemaker of the Year in 2013. His most recent awards include Riverland Wine Show Best Fortified Wine, Winestate Organic Wine of the Year and Winestate Fortified Wine of the Year.
