This single vineyard Syrah comes from the Hunter Valley's highest altitude vineyard at 500m elevation. Here the site's soil is derived from degraded basalt, which has weathered over millions of years to become a soil known as black vertosol. The fruit was 100% hand picked and whole bunch fermented, before being matured in 500L french oak puncheons for 12 months.
Alisdair Tulloch is a fifth-generation viticulturist and winemaker based in the Hunter Valley, NSW. His professional background includes extensive international experience, having worked across premier French regions including Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, and the Loire Valley.
