From humble beginnings in 2014 around the dining table at Norwood’s Queen St, CW Wines
has grown into one of Australia’s most successful family owned and operated wine businesses.
In this short period, we have brought together a well respected and enviable portfolio of
authentic Australian wine brands spanning the Coonawarra, Limestone Coast, McLaren Vale
and Barossa Valley. Our approach as a family business is to take great pride in what we do, from the vineyards that we farm to our customers who enjoy the wines we craft.
The Stonehaven Winery we own and operate was commissioned and build by Constellation Brands in 1998 as a state of the art facility to produce their award winning range of Limestone Coast wines. Purchased by CW Wines in 2021, the winery processes our premium estate grown fruit as well as fruit from our respected growers. With a 4,000 sqm temperature-controlled barrel hall, and a capacity for 10,000 barrels, we can ensure that every parcel of fruit is produced,
stored and matured in exceptional conditions.

Ben Wurst (Winemaker), Jake Tranter (Viticulturist)
Ben completed his winemaking degree at University of Adelaide in 1998, and has winemaking experience in McLaren Vale, Port Macquarie, France, South Africa, and Kangaroo Island. Ben has spent the last 17 years in Coonawarra where he has concentrated on crafting premium cool climate wines.
Today, Ben’s winemaking focuses on highlighting the expression of variety from the cooler climate premium fruit produced on our vineyards in Coonawarra and the greater Limestone Coast region, as well grapes sourced from our select growers in Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale.
