Winery Overview
Ellis Wines, a legacy rooted in passion and family heritage, emerges from the fertile volcanic soils of Colbinabbin, within the renowned Heathcote region. In 1999, Bryan and Joy Ellis planted the inaugural vines, marking the inception of a journey fueled by dedication to craftsmanship.
Strategically aligned with nature's bounty, Ellis Wines meticulously positioned its vineyards from North to South, harnessing cool winds to cultivate grapes of unparalleled quality, brimming with the perfect balance of acidity. For a decade, Ellis Wines supplied its coveted yield to esteemed wineries across Victoria before blossoming into the esteemed brand it is today.
Over two decades later, Ellis Wines stands as a cherished family legacy, having flourished from its humble 25-acre beginnings to an impressive 150-acre estate. Annually yielding approximately 34 tonnes of fruit, each vineyard expansion is a tribute to beloved family members, upholding a heritage of love and dedication.
Specializing in Shiraz, alongside Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rosé, Viognier, and Moscato, Ellis Wines marries extensive expertise with expansive acreage to craft wines of unrivaled distinction.
With a reputation forged on excellence, Ellis Wines has earned prestigious awards and accolades, including the esteemed 5-star rating in the 2021 Halliday Wine Companion. Our celebrated wines, such as our Premium Shiraz, consistently achieve scores of 95 and above in the Halliday Wine Companion, a testament to our commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
