The land on which the Fox Creek Wines exists today traces its roots beyond the European settlers to the indigenous custodians many millennia ago. It is this history that is embedded deep within our soil. Then came the founding families who planted many of the vines that still bear fruit today. Now they’re tended by true sons of the soil, Ben Gibson and Jock Harvey, whose childhood friendship echoes throughout McLaren Vale and the Australian wine community. Together, they’re not only breathing new life into this historic winery, but are building upon their decades long 75 years of combined international wine industry experience. With these experienced hands receiving the baton from past generations, the heritage of Fox Creek Wines is being stewarded towards continued wine awards excellence. The Fox Creek portfolio of wines ranges from sparkling through to full bodied red wines and includes exciting alternative varietals. Recognised not only throughout Australia but also in Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and Americas, with numerous domestic and international awards to our bow, including an ‘Outstanding’ Langton’s Classification and Halliday Wine Companion 5-star winery rating.

Steven Soper, or ‘Sopes’ as he is affectionately known, has been with Fox Creek Wines in the role of winemaker since 2018. He has over 20 years of experience, working with other wine producers around Australia, Canada and Europe. Having spent time overseas has given Steven a different perspective on how to create elegant wines with a level of finesse. Steven has recently taken on wine show judging roles including the McLaren Vale Wine Show, Riverland Wine Show and Royal Adelaide Wine Show.
