Yeringberg
Yarra Valley , Victoria
Winery Overview
Yeringberg is an enduring family farm with a deeply storied past. Yeringberg continues to craft outstanding fine wine and sheep on a unique property in the Yarra Valley.
Yeringberg wines are known for their elegance, finesse & longevity. They are made only from grapes grown at Yeringberg, thus consistently reflecting the vintage and the vineyard. They are always enjoyable when young but are also suitable to cellar for special anniversaries as they have the structure and balance to ensure a long and rewarding future.
Yeringberg has been the de Pury family home, farm and business since 1863. In the 1880s Yeringberg was exporting wine to England, and won gold medals in London, Paris, Bordeaux and San Francisco. The decline of the world market for Australian wines after WW1 led to the demise of the Yarra Valley wine industry. In 1921 Yeringberg was the last big Yarra Valley vineyard to pull out its’ vines.
In 1969, third generation Guill de Pury re-established the Yeringberg vineyard on the same north-east slopes originally chosen by his grandfather. Sandra and David de Pury are fourth generation custodians of the land and have a vision to ensure the brand remains relevant and successful for the next 100+ years.
A visit to Yeringberg is a journey worth making.
