The Eden Valley wine region is a land of rugged beauty and premium wine. A place to escape and explore. 

In Barossa’s high country, Eden Valley is one of Australia’s top cool-climate wine regions. Its pockets of hidden vineyards are surrounded by hills and ancient red gums. Native wildlife, boutique wineries, and food and wine events add to the list of reasons to visit.

Climate and Altitude

Set up in the hills, Eden Valley has a cool climate with lower temperatures than the Barossa Valley next door. The vineyards at higher elevations are much cooler than those lower down.

The Environment

Eden Valley is in South Australia’s Barossa Ranges, a little over an hour’s drive north-east of Adelaide. It neighbours Barossa Valley and together they make up the Barossa Zone. 

Climate

Summer days are warm and sunny in Eden Valley with the temperature dropping at night. Winter requires coats and scarves, and often an umbrella too.

Soil

The varied terrain means there are different soil types ranging from loamy sand to clay loams.

RIESLING

Eden Valley has a long tradition of making Riesling and it’s world-class – elegant with intense citrus flavours. The best wines can be aged for a decade or more but can also be enjoyed young and fresh. 

CHARDONNAY

Premium cool-climate white wine that’s rich with flavours of melon, green apple and cashew. 

SHIRAZ

Smooth red wine with vibrant fruit flavours that make it unique to the Eden Valley wine region. It’s ready to enjoy straight away and top-quality wines will also age for many years. 

CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Deeply coloured, full-flavoured yet elegant red wine with excellent ageing potential.
