Masterclass presenter
Kati Vainionpää
Kati has worked in the wine trade for 17 years working in wine retail and wine education, educating a number of wine students from the beginners to advanced level. In her current role as Wine Australia’s Education Development Manager – Asia Pacific, Kati leads Australian Wine education activities across the diverse Asia Pacific markets. She is one of the key team members to develop and bring alive the globally known and award-winning ‘Australian Wine Discovered’ education platform.
Among other things, Kati supports global teams and activities by sharing her in-depth knowledge about Australian regions, varieties and wine community. Kati has completed the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines and Spirits and holds the WSET Certified Educator Level 3 and Assessor Certificate.
Ms Stella Vania
Stella is the co-founder and our lead speaker and trainer. She has 9 years of experience as a wine professional, working both internationally and in Indonesia. Her passion for wine began during her travels and work in Australia. Upon returning to Jakarta, she started her career as a Junior Sommelier, where she earned 3rd place in the Jakarta Best Sommelier competition. She later honed her sales and marketing skills with wine importers in both Jakarta and Singapore. In 2023, she co-founded WAI to assist brand owners, principals, and importers by providing wine training and event activations. Stella holds advanced certifications, including Certified Specialist of Wine (SWE), French Wine Scholar, WSET Level 3, and is currently pursuing WSET Level 4.
