Blending multiple vintages gives the winemaker freedom to build complexity, freshness and balance before secondary fermentation creates fine, lively bubbles. Aromas of grapefruit, green apple, lemon sorbet and gentle yeast autolysis lead into a crisp, bright palate layered with apple, citrus and refreshing acidity. Shane Harris has been part of Wines by Geoff Hardy since 2006 and became Senior Winemaker in 2009. A former chef, Shane brings a strong food-focused philosophy to his winemaking, crafting wines with balance, character and genuine drinkability. He was named Winestate Magazine’s Australian Winemaker of the Year in 2012, 2018 and 2021, and helped Wines by Geoff Hardy earn Australian Wine Company of the Year in 2012 and 2014, along with a five red star Halliday rating. Shane sees his role as preserving the vineyard’s message from grape to glass.
