Established in the 1980s, the Yates vineyard is situated in the ‘mid-west’ of the Coonawarra strip part way between the Coonawarra and Penola townships. Planted to both Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, it produces fruit with great varietal definition, concentration and flavour. Surrounded by a number of large gum tree’s, there is always a hint of mint and eucalypt which helps define the regionality and style, hallmarks of wine from this vineyard consistent over the last 40 years.
