Wine Description
Rhubarb and plum give warmth and depth to the mid palate. Fine, grown tannins balance and give structure to the generous fruit character. A touch of liquorice and coffee oak notes add to and enrich the palate. The wine shows great persistence and complexity on the finish. A great example of dry grown Victorian Shiraz that will age with distinction for many years.
Winemaker's Bio
No stranger to the world of winemaking, Alister Timms grew
up on his family’s vineyards on the Bellarine Peninsula, planting
vines at the age of 10.
After studying Oenology at the University of Adelaide, Alister
joined Shadowfax as assistant vineyard manager. He then spent
time managing his family’s winery, Kilgour Estate and travelled
to Italy to spend two vintages in Tenuta di Valgiano in Tuscany.
Alister later returned to Shadowfax to manage the winery’s
vineyards and establish the new Little Hampton estate in the
Macedon Ranges before becoming Chief Winemaker in 2017.
