Wine Description
A blend of five red varieties well documented as soulmates in France’s Bordeaux region, an inspiration certainly, imbued here with the unique characters of Koonowla’s much-loved Bass Hill estate vineyard west of Auburn. Each vintage the blend changes
depending on how each variety has performed, in 2020 the makeup resulting in: Cabernet Sauvignon (36%), Malbec (22%), Petit Verdot (22%), Carmenere (10%) and Cabernet Franc (10%). The growing season encouraged beautifully even ripening so that the fruit quality was supreme, demanding the finest treatment in the winery including 50% new French oak maturation.

Winemaker's Bio
Con has established an enviable winemaking record during his 40-year career. He has a passion for working with individual parcels from high quality vineyards. A traditionalist at heart, he uses tried and tested techniques to produce premium wines while respecting each varietal's unique characteristics. Winemaking is an artform, and Con believes that the best results come from gentle and respectful fruit handling. Small batch production allows for a more hands on approach resulting in elegant, naturally flavourful wines.
