The MV Range showcases some of the finest, low yielding vineyard sites that McLaren Vale’s ancient coastal landscape has to offer. Crafted using entirely by-hand winemaking techniques. The resulting wine demonstrate the beauty, complexity and character of place, varietal and vintage. The sense of place varieties. Wines with texture, complexity and mouthfeel that celebrate the wonderful climate, geology, coastal influence, and lifestyle of McLaren Vale. Vineyards: low yielding & harsh sites due to being windswept, shallow soils, rocks resilient vines Gentle winemaking: 100% open fermentation with plunging, basket pressing & oak maturation.
Winemaker's Bio
Born into a grape-growing family in McLaren Vale, South Australia, Michael developed a profound passion for winemaking from a young age. At the age of six, the annual family tradition of handcrafting a barrel each of Shiraz and Grenache began, igniting his lifelong love for wine. Combining a Microbiology and Genetics degree from the University of Adelaide, with a passion for food and wine, and a deep fondness for McLaren Vale, he further pursued Oenology at Roseworthy College, graduating in 1990. Since then, Michael has been dedicated to sharing the splendors of McLaren Vale globally, accumulating prestigious winemaking awards. In 2007, he earned the title of International Winemaker of the Year at the London International Wine and Spirit Competition. His unpretentious and instinctive approach, coupled with an intuitive understanding of McLaren Vale, is evident in his wines - which reflect his unwavering commitment to showcasing the region's endless potential.
