Winery Overview
Punt Road winery sits across a spectacular 59-hectare vineyard in Coldstream, nestled within the cool-climate region of the Yarra Valley in Australia. Grape growing on our historic estate dates to 1860, and today the third and fourth generations of the Napoleone family own and farm the land.
The names Punt Road and Airlie Bank recognise the important role our estate played in the history of grape growing in the Yarra Valley. On Melbourne’s Punt Road, once sat the Airlie Bank vineyard. It was from here in 1860 that vine cuttings were taken to plant 200 acres of vineyard in Coldstream. This land would later become the home of the original St Hubert’s vineyard and then Punt Road wines.

Winemaker Bio
Jarrod took on the role of head winemaker at Punt Road Wines and Airlie Bank in 2022. He completed a bachelor's degree in winemaking and viticulture, majoring in agriculture and technology, at Latrobe University and Melbourne Polytechnic. He then gained valuable experience at Domaine Chandon, where he focused on crafting sparkling wines and learned about the technical aspects of the wine business. Later, he joined the iconic Seville Estate in the Yarra Valley, working alongside Dylan McMahon for five vintages and producing some remarkable wines. During his time at Seville Estate, Jarrod spent a considerable amount of time in the vineyards, which reinforced his belief that great wines are made in the vineyard. This experience helped him refine his palate and winegrowing skills, laying the foundation for his next winemaking journey at Punt Road and Airlie Bank.
