Vasse Felix, Margaret River’s founding wine estate, was established by Dr Thomas Brendan Cullity in 1967. Among his first plantings were Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec vines, from which he produced the estate’s first red wine. The TOM CULLITY descends from these original vines and represents the purest expression of our history, place and vintage; the pinnacle of Vasse Felix.

Virginia Willcock joined as Chief Winemaker at Vasse Felix in October 2006. She has an insatiable curiosity for the role microbiology plays in grapes and vineyards in making more site expressive wines. She completed 29 vintages in Margaret River, and worked international vintages in Albania, Italy in Trentino, Sicily and Abruzzo as well as New Zealand. Virginia is one of the most awarded female winemakers in Australia, having been named ‘Gourmet Traveller WINE Australian Winemaker of the Year’ in 2012 and ‘Winemaker of the Year’ in the 2017 Australian Women in Wine Awards. A respected authority on Margaret River winemaking, Virginia has represented the region as presenter and panellist at numerous international events.
