Wine Description
The Pinnacle Series are wines which best display the outstanding terroir of our vineyard sources. Fruit for this benchmark Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from both of our Griffin Road and Wallace Lane Vineyards. Barrel fermented in neutral French oak, with regular battonage. Scents of fresh passionfruit and honeydew melon and an abundant palate of gooseberry and lemon pith with lingering acid leading to a long finish.
Winemaker's Bio
Born in England and raised in New Zealand, Chris Jessop has developed a deep passion for winemaking across four countries and 13 distinct regions. He studied Viticulture and Oenology at Lincoln University in Christchurch, which laid the foundation for his career. Chris has had the privilege of working with esteemed producers such as Mahi, Esk Valley, Dr. Loosen, and Quartz Reef, where he honed his skills in both traditional and modern techniques tailored to various terroirs. His experience in warm and cool climates has enabled him to craft wines that truly reflect their origins. Chris joined Ross Hill Wines in late 2023, where he focuses on refining the portfolio and ensuring each bottle embodies the quality and commitment Ross Hill is known for.
