We are twelve of Australia’s oldest family-owned wineries. With our strong roots in the history of our wineries, the heritage of our forebears and the provenance of the wines we craft, our stories resonate around the world. We came together as a like-minded group, to tell our stories and share the fruits of our family labours.
Australia’s First Families of Wine are just that – twelve of Australia’s oldest, multi-generational family-owned wineries, who came together as a collaborative in 2009 to retell the Australian wine narrative. Bound by their proud history, the heritage of their forebears, the provenance of the iconic vineyards that they work and the premium wines that they craft, this group is rich in storytelling magic.
Always an outward looking group, they have travelled the world near and far to share their tales of persistence, re-imagining, sustainability and innovation that have created some of Australia’s best-known wines.
With an eye to the future, the Next Generation of this group are taking the reins, bringing a modern vision, all with a respectful eye to the past. This is a group here for longevity – as they have been, always.
