Wine Description
Age of Enlightenment, one might say, is when an individual becomes comfortable, self-assured and fully expressed in their own self. This awakening can occur at any time in life, but in that moment, one transcends to another level of expressive power, self-confidence, balance and harmony.
The same can be said for grapevines. A vineyard, its grapevines, grower and Mother Earth all work harmoniously, producing fruit of balance and expressive character capturing the gaze of the winemaker, who transforms the fruit into wine imbuing intrinsic characteristics of memorable quality.

• 94 points – WinePilot.com, Ken Gargett, February 2025 – “Shiraz from McLaren Vale which spent a year and a half maturing in a mix of new and older French oak puncheons, this is a star. A dark red/maroon hue here, this is big, rich and bold. Full of flavour with aromas of chocolate, mocha, liquorice, tobacco leaves, dry herbs, cassis and smoked meats, the wine is seamless with abundant, sleek tannins. It has excellent length and maintains the intensity for the full journey. An absolutely cracking wine for enjoying over the next decade.”
• 95 points, WineOrbit.co.nz, Sam Kim, March 2025 – "Bold and powerful, yet graceful and harmonious, showing black and purple fruit intensity with notes of toasted spice, floral, and cedar. It's wonderfully concentrated on the palate, displaying a plush texture and layers of grainy tannins, making it sturdy and persistent. Complex and opulent with a sustained, satisfying finish. At its best: now to 2038.”
• 93 points – WinePilot.com, Tony Love, April 2025 - "Sourced from the central Seaview district of the McLaren Vale region, having carried 5 years maturity with aplomb, this wine has found a lovely point of balance and completeness, fruit and familiar regional mocha notes in sync, grape flesh still evident, background exotic spice, fennel seed, nutmeg and white pepper teasing further interest in the palate. Mouthfilling and satisfying."
