WINEMAKER’S NOTES
This wine is a classic example of Margaret River Cabernet Merlot – a wine that has a varietal Cabernet bouquet and fruit structure complemented with rich dark chocolate flavours and fine tannins by way of a Merlot component.
TASTING NOTES
Colour: Purple with brick red hue.
Aroma: Lifted nose of Satsuma plum and dark berry fruits layered over fine grained French oak with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg spice. Dark fruited Merlot and spice comes through with a fine classical Margaret River Cabernet varietal lift which completes the impression.
Palate: Ripe, layered fruit with generous flavours of dark berries, forest floor and spice leading to a fine chalky tannins and mouth-filling middle palate. Oak spice completes and compliments the wine to make a classical Margaret River style.
Food matching: Lamb, any cut or especially aged cheddars
Cellaring: Five years
